Ok, this is not a celestial body When I got the stone at a fair here in my hand, I immediately knew how it will look in a wood. I managed to find exactly the right piece of wood with the right lines, I carved it out very quickly, polished nicely and then drilled the hole for a string at the wrong end If you try to imagine to turn the wooden part 180 degrees (but not turning the stone), you could see that the lines in the stone match the tree-rings in the wood... I don't know what I was thinking about at the moment but it still looks nice
The stone is carnelian (the "transparent" part isn't transparent but a little bit white but it looks transparent here; I am sorry for misinformation, originally said it was an agate which was mistake) and the wood is a cherry. Handcarved, polished with sand paper, treatet with linseed oil etc.
