Description

Our New Year's Eve (2013) was about looking for the famous Lost town and stopping dark cult in Waelham so we let ourselves to be inspired by DaVinci Code. We had there some statues, stories about them and characters of our players looked for clues there. The pictures were only quick sketches so they don't have a big artistic value, however, for the story, they were invaluable:)

Ufaithful Penelope
Penelope was a wife of Ulix the Seafarer. She was famous for her beauty that charmed Ulix so much that he married her even though she was a mere willage girl and he was from the royal family. However, she was also know for her insatiable lust. While her husband was fighting in the wars and traveling on the dangerous seas, she looked for paramours, held orgies and shared her bed with many noblemen. When Ulix returned from his voyages and heared how she betrayed him, he slaughtered her paramours, let Penelope to be put in a barrel and thrown away on the seas.

Ulix the Seafarer
Ulix was a legendary seafarer that became famous during the wars against the barbarian kingdoms in the south for his foxyness and deceit against his enemies. When he helped his king to win and set o the voyage back home, his ship was dragged away by a wild storm and he was lost on the seas. His journey home took five years and the heroic deeds he did during it, the monsters he slew and the treasures he carried back home are still themes of songs till today.

Adria the Sorceress
Of the group of wizzards that helped during the fights against dragons, Adria was the only one who lived to their endeing and also one of the most powerful of them. It was her spell that allowed Cedric the Dragonslayer to imprison Faellskör the Destroyer in the metal. That and her beauty were reasons for Cedrick to marry her and that made her the queen of Waelham. In the later years, she has founded the magical shool on the Isle, where she tought others and was burried after her early death. It is believed that her spirit still guards the school that wasl later named after her.

Morgan - the Champion of Arena
Per aspera ad astra
Morgan was one of many children raised in the Orphanage of st. Bohdan in the Old town, however she became a paragon for a common folk when she - in disguise as a man - defeated all her opponents, with a single blow behaded the best fighter then and became the champion of arena. She never gave up and always fought till her last strengths like a dragon untill, five years later, she was defeated by a young swordsman that wouldn't have chance against her but for her untreated wounds from the previous fights.

Cedric Tryferu - the Dragonslayer
At the end of the long fights against the dragons, Cedric Tryferu arose amongst the other warriors, who exceeded all the others with his deeds. When the hope of men was fading, he led the others to charge during which he alone slew a dozen of dragons and stood against the greatest and the most gruesome of them - Faellskör the Destroyer. For three days and three nights he battled the beast until he beated it due to a spell that Adria the Sorceress haad laid on his legendary spear, and imprisoned it in a metal as a statue. People chose Cedric to be their king for his herioc deeds and he married Adria and it is believed that till their blood flows in the veins of the kings of Waelham, Faellskör will remain imprisoned.

Goewin
During the regin of emperor Sebastian, there lived a girl called Goewin in Wealham. She was a daughter of the imperial hunstman who had no other children but her and who taught her all he knew. When she grew up, there was no hunter in the city or near it who could match her and there was no animal in the world she couldn't hunt. Only one beast kept fleeing from her arrows; the Deer of Moon Goddess with the golden antlers that was a king of the forest and nobody could cath up with him. For whole month she chased him restless throught the fores until the Deer fell exhausted. However, gazing on this sacred and beatufil beast, she took pitty on him. The Deer gave her his antlers for it and she made a bow from them and arrows fired from it never missed and after her death, the Moon Goddes took her into her hunt.

Oliver Predyn - the Champion of Arena
Omnia vincit amor
He was the youngest son from the noble family of Predyns who were unjustly deprived of their title and their reputation so he decided to gain it back in the arena. Perhaps for being right, perhaps for the love of virtuuos Julia, the young daughter of coun Longcrest, the gods favoured him and he beated down all his oppponents including the famous Waelham beast Morgan. He purified the name of his family and gained it's lost fame and so married Julia and lived with her happily till his death.

Of course, these stories (that were printed on the plaquettes of the statues) are very idolized and sometimes full of lies but people like it:) There is more statues in Waelham but only have these so far...

Every statue was done with pencil on A5 paper and then they were put together and the texture was added in Photoshop

P.S.: I hope this one doesn't need to be marked as a mature, if it does, let me know.
